What is a TOP BANANA?
Curious George is our class mascot. He is eager to visit your child at home for a week! Having George visit is as easy as following the 5 school rules! Students who have exceptional behavior for the week may be selected as a “Top Banana” and they get to take home George and his green backback for the week.
Kindergarten Rules:
1. Follow Adult Directions promptly.
2. Use Kind Words and Actions.
3. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
4. Remain is assigned area as directed.
5. Use Quiet voices and talk when allowed.
We expect all kindergarteners to follow directions and to do their best each day. So each day your child will start their day with a “Smile for the Day”. If they follow all the directions listed above they will be allowed to color in their "communication sheet smiley face" ( in your child's binder) at the end of the day. To monitor each child’s behavior I use a system of tickets on colored trains. If your child’s ticket is on green train then they are doing their best and earning a “Smile for the Day”. However, for each time they chose not to follow the rules then their ticket will be moved from Yellow train warning 1, to Yellow train warning 2, and then to red. If your child’s name is moved to red then they will spend time in a ”Class Pass”. All warnings will be recorded in your child's binder so you can encourage good choices and appropriate class behavior.
